Well it arrived today. Force on Force by Ambush Alley Games/Osprey Publishing. 224 page hardback book. The first thing you notice is it not A4 size but rather a very slightly smaller compact book. Handy for carrying around. I like that. It covers alot of different topics.
So you got the usual rules covering movement and fire but you also have night fighting, dependants, air mobile operations, close air support, dog teams etc. Far too many too mention but backed up with a quality layout and Osprey pictures.
Now before you start thinking this is all going to be pretty complicated its actually not. It uses a different dice to note troop quality and morale and the universal mechanic of rolling 4 or better. It adds and subracts dice for the different situations and covers regular v regular forces or regular v irregular forces. Very much a full package with campign rules, sample organisations and 4 scenarios to play added in.
More supplements to follow but who says you have to buy them all.
Now if you excuse me I would like to read it in full for a more detailed look at it.
Painted : Nothing to report
Bought : Still resisting
Dave, if you listen to Podcasts then you should have a listen to Episode 73 of the Meeples and Miniatures podcast where Neil Shuck does a pretty good review of the rule book, the Road to Baghdad scenario book and has a chat with the Guys at Osprey and Ambush Alley
