Looking around Lead Mountain

I was looking around but not for anything in particular and I came accross some painting that needed some finishing.

So I finished this.
15mm Peter Pig Command for Civil War Battles. I could use them for Black Powder once Santa visits. I know he has dropped them off already !!
10mm Kallistra Chariot Elves for my really old Warmaster Army. I have moved the chariots to the front so I can finish them.
10mm Kallistra Elves cavalry. Again unfinished Warmaster Army but enjoyed finishing them so have looked out some more.

Still working on the Sci Fi Colonial Troopers and preparing dome VC for Vietnam.

28mm Sci Fi Colonial Troopers for Tomorrows War

Tomorrows War is soon be released under the umbrella of Osprey and Ambush Alley Games with the same high quality and slick presentation that was Force on Force.

I am really looking forward to it and with that in mind I am now painting up some Sci Fi Colonial troopers to be ready in time.

The miniatures are from 1st Corps and have been really easy to paint. I have finished 9 so far but the rest have all been started.

After the miniatures are all done some vehicles will need to be added and some scratch built buildings.

I have a few ideas for them including some different terrain pieces as well.

Painted : 147

Gruntz update and others

Well we did have our first try out of the Gruntz 15mm Sci Fi rules.

It was very good although as usual for a first try out we missed a few things out but it was enough to let us know that we will be progressing it further.

So I need more Felid from Khurasan Miniatures and I mis read the summer shop page as a sale which it is not. I even enquired with them how long the sale was going on for as I knew I needed more stuff.

Now Khurasan did answer me very politely while disguising the fact that I am clearly a few sandwiches short of a picnic or the village idiot. They did so very effectively with the minimal of fuss and only using one word.

Sale ?

Which confirms a few facts.

1. I am really, really quite stupid.

2. Mr Khurasan is really nice (And Mrs K)

3. Khurasan prices are great so buy from THEM.

They have also just released some of the bikes. Check out the link for proof how good they are.

They have also have the transport available which you can see at this link.

So I will after all be able to wait until payday before getting some of them.

Lastly the 16 Vietnam figures arrived today. The US forces are on the painting table as well as the Felids and 28mm Colonial marines. I hope to have some of them finished this week to post pictures.

If the Lord spare us

On Tuesday we tried out " If the Lord spare us " by the Too Fat Lardies.

It was the British Jolly Good Fellows and Austrailian Diggers verus Johnny Turk.

I was Johnny Turk and was defending while the jolly Good Fellows and diggers were on the attack. As it was a card game turn with the standard tea break card to end the turn you get a bit worried when your opponents cards keep coming out.

However luck was not against me and the card turned up for me to maul the Brit cavalry that stood in front of my guns. The other flank was similar but it was not a maul by any means.

Pretty good so far.

Then came the diggers and my centre was cut open by a can of beans including my HQ. Now HQ's can remove supression markers as the more you have the less or nothing you units can do. In my case nothing was the answer as any more than 6 comes with problems and in some cases I had over 14. My shooting dice was good but morale was the rolls of 1.

Still it was a good game which played really well. I have never read the rules but followed the playsheet and after a few turns I had picked  it up.

So Johnny Turk Flanks 2 Diggers 3.

Tonight its Gruntz with my Felid from Khurasan although not fully painted we will try the rules out.
