Some final Russian 1/72 figures

The final 7 Russians so that I forgot to show you. So its all done.

Well no. I was thinking I had all these infantry, the Anti tank guns, buildings and T34's( still to paint) but no other scenery. I have therefore started on the roads scattered accross the dining room floor !!!

Plans are also being made for some hedges and fences.

Gruntz 15mm Sci Fi

Okay so you know what I have been doing in the past but what am I doing now.

The first answer is obviously Gruntz which has been on the radar for some time. Gordon Y ( as usual ) has got the jump on me so his force is all done. I was going to use New Isreali's from Ground Zero Games but Khurasan Miniatures had a sale.

So I picked Felid. Tiger Warriors who can resist at a stupid price.

Not me.

So 41 figures which is more than enough for 4 units plus support so the race is on to finish them as soon as.

BUT before that it's 10mm Pendraken figures in WW1 for the ' If the Lord spares us " tomorrow night.

I will let you know how ( badly ) I get on.

Pegasus Hobbies 1/72 Russian Log Houses

Well there would not be any point of finishing the Plastic Soldier Russians without some Russian buildings. These were purchased at Wappinshaw in June. They are very easy to build althought one of the roof's doesn't quite fit so I will need to do something about that.

As you can see this is the one with the dodgy roof and it is the middle sized one. Next is the smallest.

Now for the big daddy of them all. The 2 storey log house.

They were all built first and then glued to the MDF base. I then added the building sand. It was then all painted including the inside of the building with Sandtex Chocolate brown followed by a drybrush of Foundry Spearshaft B and them C only on doors, windows and building edges. The roofs were again covered in chocolate brown but then with Foundry Artic grey A and B.

The grass was Jarvis Hairy Autumn mix and Army Painter Swamp Turfs. They were both drybrushed with Foundry Lemon C to finish.

At last the pictures.

Again painted very quickly so that the first of these Russians were bought in May and now they are complete apart from the 3 T34's which is only because I don't have the bases to put them on.

Overall I would recomend the Plastic Soldier Company ranges. Nice models and nicely priced.

Bought: 16 US Vietnam figures so total now 106.

Painted: Another 20 complete making the total 140.  

Russian Anti Gun update 1/72 Plastic Soldier Company

Sorry about the lack of posts but difficulties with the PC has meant I have to add everything again. Very boring and frustrating.

However the above is finished as well as the 20mm houses.

Pictures will follow when I add I get around to adding that software.

Hopefully the PC will play nice after that.

Plastic Soldier 1/72 T34/85 Tanks

Well moving swiftly along I opened the box of Plastic Soldier 1/72 T34/85 Tanks.

So you get 3 of these to make either the T34/85. I at present don't plan to glue the turrets down as I intend to use for both versions.

If you look at the above picture you can see a flaw in the bottom track assembly. Not a problem as a little filler should solve this problem. I has also heard problems with the track assembly so I built both of them as complete units and then glued them to the tank.

It seem to work fine but you can again see a little gap in the track assembly but filler will do the job.

A short while later you have 3 tanks built. Despite the little glitches which I am sure will be fixed with a little filler they were very east to build. I added weights to the hull as I also heard they were  a bit lightweight.

I purchased mine for £11 at Cannonade which is still a bit of a bargain. I would have no trouble recommending these and will probably by more.

Lastly here is a picture with one of the infantry figures to let you see how big they are.

It shouldn't happen to Magic Wash !!!

It all started with a discussion on the way from the wargames club. GordonY suggested I should try this out and off I went to purchase the Klear polish which for those in the know is now "Pledge Multi-Surface Wax"

So a few days later I mixed up a 50/50 mix of wax and water. That's not to say it has to be in those quanties as I have seen on the internet quite a few variations. However I went with the original recipe. I then left it a few days just so that there was no bubbles.

I then added the brown ink. Printer ink so apparently very strong. That is once I had managed to open the bottle as the lid was stuck.

Strong stuff indeed !

It was touch and go at this point as I did think about the effect printers ink could have on kitchen worktops while I attacked with the good kitchen knives !!!!!!

The next thing I was faced was that the ink came out in a blob which had film in it of some kind.

Anyway I thought well I will shake it.

Aaaaaah ! Little bits of ink all with film on it !!! Drat.

I know I will strain it with a sieve.

You did not what ?

Okay at this point I did think" Now wait minute here you have just worked out next months wargame order and YOU don't want to screw it up. Perhaps in the interest of domestic bliss you should come up with something else"

So I decided to buy a new one from one of the cheap pound shops that are around.

A few days later I managed to buy 2 for 99p. BARGAIN.

So I then sieved twice to get rid of it all and now I am left with this.

So my question now do I add ink or do I start all over again ?
